Public Lecture by Dr. Elizabeth Thompson “How the West Stole Democracy from the Arabs”

The UAH Department of History will host Dr. Elizabeth Thompson (Professor of Modern Middle East History and Islamic Studies at American University) for a lecture on her forthcoming book, titled ” How the West Stole Democracy from the Arabs: The Syrian Arab Congress of 1920 and the Destruction of its Liberal-Islamic Alliance.” (Grove-Atlantic Press, April 2020). The lecture will take place on Thursday March 19, 6:00 pm, at Chan Auditorium on UAH’s campus. The lecture is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. This event is sponsored by the Department of History and the UAH Humanities Center in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
