10th Annual RuckUp22 October 11th, 2025 @0900 at Aldridge Creek Greenway
“Did you know we lose 22 brothers and sisters each day to suicide?” That sobering statistic was the spark that brought four Army veterans together in 2016 to ask, “What are we going to do about it?” Their answer: RuckUp22.
The inaugural event was held on October 22, 2016—a 22-mile ruck carrying 22 pounds, costing just $22. Every dollar raised went to The Battle Buddy Foundation, supporting veterans in crisis. The impact was immediate and powerful, and the movement has grown ever since.
Now in its 10th year, RuckUp22 continues to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention and promote the physical and mental wellness of active-duty service members, veterans, and their families. The event has expanded to multiple cities, including Huntsville, Nashville, and Dayton, and has supported organizations like The Battle Buddy Foundation and Tunnel to Towers.
What to Expect:
• Ruck up to 22 miles with a 22 lb rucksack to show solidarity
• Walk any distance—with or without a ruck—to support the cause
• Cheer on fellow ruckers and connect with a community of support
• Receive a commemorative RuckUp22 patch (included with registration)
• Optional event T-shirts available for purchase
Whether you’re a seasoned rucker or just want to walk a few miles in support, everyone is welcome. This is more than a hike—it’s a mission to honor those we’ve lost and protect those still fighting.
