Not only is it the world’s Largest Gingerbread house…..but it’s
also a replica of the McAllister House from Home Alone. It’s 34-feet-long, 58-feet-wide, and over 22-feet-tall. It took eight days to construct.  It took over 7,000 pounds of flour . . . more than 6,600 eggs . . . 4,200 gingerbread bricks . . . 1,800 roof tiles . . . and 20 gallons of edible glue to construct. There are also replica vehicles on display, like Harry and Marv’s van and a Little Nero’s Pizza delivery car. Disney built it in Hollywood to celebrate the movie’s 35th anniversary.

  • We start with the World’s Most Expensive Christmas Sweater. It costs $30,000 and took 52 hours to hand-make. The sweater features 24,274 individually placed Swarvoski crystals.

  • We have 70,000 Christmas lights at a home in Iowa.  Even better yet Trevor is accepting donations for St. Jude’s. So it’s a Win win.  Trevors holiday spirit brightens the neighborhood during the festive season….and helps out kids with cancer all at the same time.

  • A mysterious Secret Santa in Idaho is spreading holiday cheer by giving away a million dollars to local families facing hardship. The generosity began a few months ago and will continue through the end of the year.

  • A stunning Christmas tree made out entirely of crocheted yarn squares. Made by 25 women, many of them met for the first time online, crocheted, shared stories, and created a meaningful holiday centerpiece to help build community love.

About Abby:

Originally from Rock Falls, Illinois, Abby has been in radio for almost 30 years, and in the Huntsville market her entire career, with the last 16 at Mix 96.9. She started out as the midday host for the first 9 years, and has since transitioned into host of the morning show.

Abby loves spending time with her husband and 2 kids, and her beautiful granddaughter – eating at her favorite Mexican restaurant and most of all shopping for shoes! Her favorite vacation destination is the beach! One thing she couldn’t live without…a good cup of coffee anytime of the day!

About Bill:

Being from Connecticut, Bill is a huge New England Patriot fan! His career in radio began there and has taken him through Massachusetts, Central Pennsylvania…and along the journey, he’s met some pretty cool people – Sting, Van Halen, Aerosmith, TobyMac, Lauren Daigle and more!

Bill and his wife have three kids, two of which attend the University of Alabama Huntsville, and they all definitely take advantage of the fact that his ears “are shot”!

As the Mix 96.9 Morning Show Co-Host and “Traffic Guy”, Bill adds his quick wit and humor to the morning show along with making sure you know everything you need to know in order to get to and from work safely Monday through Friday morning and afternoon.

When not hanging out in the Mix 96.9 studio, he and his wife take advantage of all the great sights and sounds, and, of course, the local food scene in and around the Huntsville area!
